    Pretty soon you will receive an order request confirmation through e-mail, with the freight costs, which will be calculated by us based on the Brazilian postage fees and rates table.     1- Economical: As the word already tells, it is the least expensive way of deliverance and, therefore, the most used by our clients. Its disadvantage is the delivery deadline, which is longer. The maximum weight allowed is 66 pounds (30 Kg - around 300 comics - small lay out).

    2- Priority: This is a good option for those who are in a hurry to receive their titles, but doesn't want to pay as much as for Express. Its major disadvantage is the maximum weight allowed: 4.4 pounds (2 Kg - around 20 comics in small lay out. On the other hand, the delivery deadline is 9 working days.

    3- Express: This is the ideal option for the ones in a hurry to receive their titles. The delivery deadline is only 5 working days. Its main disadvantage is, obviously, the high cost. The maximum weight allowed is 66 pounds (30 Kg).

    4- Exportation: This option is the most used for bookstore sellers and comic shops. This one is used only in the case of deliverances with more than 220 pounds (over 100 Kg - approximately 1000 comics in small lay out). We've already used this system several times, including sending orders superior to 12 tons of comics. In those cases, the freight cost is pretty attractive with variation among US$ 1.10 to US$ 1.70 per 2.2 pounds (1 Kg).

    Our pattern remittances delivery is usually the economical. If you wish your order would be made by other option, please tell us within your order e-mail message. We will inform you the freight cost without any commitment from your part to close the deal - just send us a list of the desired titles and we will get in contact with you.
    You may also consult the freight costs directly at the Brazilian Post Services site. Access www.correios.com.br. Chose the type of remittance (MERCADORIA), total weight (peso total in Kg, 1 kg - 2.2 pounds), select the country you live in and click in CONTINUAR for the Post System to calculate the freight for you.

  • Our first store was born in August, 1992. It was called Werk Bookstore, and it was located in Curitiba, Brazil. At that time, it was a bookstore which had in stock antique, used, old, rare, out of print books, magazines, comics and LPs.
    Since the beggining, we have noticed that the rare and out of print comics were trade in a neglected way by the majority of the market.
    Few items in stock, awful preservation, incoherent pricing and confusion were predominant in this market. We saw it as an opportunity of investment in specializing at this market: we organized all the items in stock, determined paterns for pricing based in this market statistics, increased the variety of titles and established a careful selection criteria in order to offer products in excellent preservation condition. Soon, the results appeared: a significant increasing in sales and Werck Bookstore became reference for collectors all over Paraná State.
    In 1995, we moved into a bigger store - a thousand squared meters, with four hundred squared meters available specially for comics. The stock kept growing: we reached 800.000 rare, used, out of print both books and comic titles in stock! In order to manage and achieve balance in stock, we decided to expand rare, used books trade to all national territory. We invested heavily in publicity and we set a more complex structure in order to serve any client in Brasil. Once more we succeded because we filled the need of those clients living in further regions of Brazil without access to antique rare titles. These clients started and kept buying their titles with us.
    In 1999, the challenge was even bigger: in order to keep expanding we needed to be located at the Brazilian biggest consumers market. We finished our activities in Curitiba City, Paraná and established our store in São Paulo City, São Paulo. There was an e-commerce boom at that time. So, we decided to seize this opportunity and started our e-commerce activities specialized in Comics both in and from São Paulo City to all Brazilian national territory.
    That is how E-Comics - the first Brazilian virtual store specialized in antique, rare and out of print Comic titles - settled. At the beginning, we had 6.500 Comic titles in stock (nowadays, there are over 45.000 Comic titles). At that time, we had the challenge of dealing with a total lack of credibility of customers regarding e-commerce. The paradigm was that buying through the web was considered as only for people with higher education. We accepted the challenge of changing that paradigm and after six months, we put our first version of the site at the web. At the first week, we had only 4 visitors! In order to create a new paradigm at the market, we decide to invest heavily at: creating credibility among our clients through image, optimizing communication in order to improving connection with our clients, always keeping E-Comics standards and offering high quality products, all of that provided through electronic and safe technology of last generation.
    And it worked... we achieved sustainability through a wide range of faithful clients. These days, we keep expanding even more and we sell titles to clients in Brazil and overseas: Portugal, Spain, United States, Israel and even Bosnia!
    Then, we expanded our store even more! A lot of clients wanted to be acquainted with the E-Comics stock, they wondered about Comics preservation and freight discounts. So, in 2004, another important task was achieved: we openned our retail store in São Paulo City, which served not only to fulfill these clients needs but also improved our services capacity and provided even more security to internet transactions, through the benefits of a settled retail store.
    The store name E-Comics was pretty much connected to e-commerce activities. Reseaches point out for a changing of store name if we wanted to reunite retail store with e-commerce. Finally, we came up with the name RIKA Comics Store, a new store, yet traditional in its fourteen years of market experience.     We have more than one unit available of many of our catalog titles. You may eventually want to buy several units of the same title. If this is your case, we can send you a full file (zipped, in Excel) with title options and respective available amounts of each.

    It is important to notice that, whenever opening the lists, you might find some titles without any available exemplar, which means, we don't have any of those available in stock at the moment.
    The prices within the lists are not the reselling prices - and yes, the final customers' price. Resellers prices will be established from the list you send us and it will be calculated by the total number of titles you desire to acquire - the bigger the amount, the lower the price per unit, independently of the titles you choose.
    Once you make up your mind, send us your list through the our e-mail address.

How to buy my comics' titles?
Q-How do I buy comics' titles thru RIKA Comics site?
A- Follow the steps bellow:
1- Please, click ACCESS TO COMIC SHOP at RIKA homepage.
2-The directory will appear on the left. Click the icon PRODUCTS.
3-Next, the categories and sub-categories of products available will appear. For example, if you want to buy Amazing Spider Man #257, look for the category 11- IMPORTED COMICS - MARVEL, and then click over SPIDER MAN.
4- List with the available editions of Spider Man at the moment will appear. Notice the numbers at the bottom of the page (1-2-3…). If you click in 2, the list will continue and so on.
5-Then, you look for Amazing Spider Man #257. If you are sure this is really the edition you desire, digit how many of that edition you wish to buy in the square beside it and click in PURCHASE. If you want more details about the product, click in it. The hyperlink will lead you to the desired information such as the cover, number of pages, edition date, format, etc. Once you check it, put the desired number of exemplars in the square and click in PURCHASE.
6-Following screen is a previous view of your order. The next products you select will be gradually included in that screen.
7-Again, click in PRODUCTS in order to keep buying and repeat the categories selection procedure.
8-Deleting any product from your purchase list is possible at anytime. Just click in REMOVE PRODUCT and the system will automatically recalculate everything for you. If you wish to change the amounts of any exemplar, click the square QUANTITY, make the changes and click RECALCULATE ORDER.
9-When ordering is finished, select the State where you live and click ORDER COMPLETED.
10- Screen that follows will show a list of the items you bought, the freight costs and the total price.
11- Next, a screen with a form will appear. Fill it very carefully because it is your delivery guarantee. Choose the more convenient payment option for you and click in SEND ORDER.
12- Way to go! Your order is done. Soon you will be receiving a confirmation message through your e-mail with RIKA information for deposit.
13- Next, make the payment and wait for your comics to be delivered.
Q-Why my list gets empty each time I try to continue to choose more items to pile?
A-It happens because your navigator configuration does not accept cookies - temporary files which pile up the items of your list. In order to accept cookies, change the configuration of your navigator thru the following steps: open navigator, click TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS>PRIVACY. You will find a cursor or a window with option of changing the configuration of your navigator in order to accept the cookies. Prepare the cursor/ window to ACCEPT all the cookies and push OK. Close the windows and restart the purchase procedure.

Q- How do I know the state of preservation of the products I wish to buy?
A- Rika Comics Shop principle is to buy only products in excellent state of preservation. We know our clients are mainly collectors, and therefore demand for quality is high.
Q - Does RIKA have any products in stock in bad state of preservation?
A - Eventually, rare comics or those that naturally deteriorate very fast, such as Savage Sword, Conan are not in very good state of preservation. Under those circumstances, the tolerance is bigger in order to give collectors the opportunity to acquire rare items. In those cases, clients are previously warned about the preservation state of those comics through e-mail.
Q - How do I know the comic I'm buying is all right?
A - We check the state of the comics you purchased when we select them to be delivered to you. If one of those is not 100% all right, we will e-mail you with detailed description of the title condition. Then, you choose if you will buy it or not.
Q - What is the criteria for choosing the comics within the stock?
A - Criteria is choosing the best one available in stock.
Q - How do you manage the comics inside the stock?
A - From the moment we acquire a new collection, we organize them by titles and editions numbers. If one of those items is not listed in our site, it is registered in our website immediately. Then, the comics are cleaned with dry drafts and all of them are put into protector plastics, without exception. Our stock is clean, aired and free from humidity. We constantly track it to avoid bookworms.
Q - Are there any tags or labels at the comics' covers?
A- Eventually. They are second hand products, so they might have tags or labels from another shop or previous owner, but those are exceptions.
Q- Are there any risks of buying comics with ripped covers or missing pages?
A- No, there aren't. Items like that are immediately put away by our quality control. Those comics are given to donation.

Q-Who guarantees I will receive a product in good state of preservation?
A-We do. Rika Comics Shop has high quality control system divided in two phases: whenever RIKA Comics acquire a new collection and at the time of delivering orders to clients. We review each item requested at the clients ordering before delivering them. Client is warned about special cases (rare comics, etc.) by e-mail and he can choose whether to buy them or not.
Q - Is there a chance of any of the ordered comics are missing?
A - This might happen eventually in those cases of simultaneous sales of titles that RIKA has only one exemplar in stock. In those cases, client is refunded with the respective amount in cash together with the remittance of the ordered titles.
Q - I bought a comic I've already had. Can I switch it for another?
A - No, it's not possible. Therefore, be careful and verify your collection before buying it.
Q- I didn't like the comic I've just bought. Can I change it for another?
A- No, you can't. We are a legal entity with profits objectives, not a comics' library.
Q- I received a product in bad state of conservation. Can I change it for another?
A- Yes, you can. In this case, inform us what happened and describe the title and the edition number as well as the problem. We will check the edition and replace the damaged title for you.
Q-How can I be sure I will receive what I'm buying?
A- Credibility is everything in e-business. We are concerned about maintaining our credibility accomplished in 5 years of Internet activities and other 14 years experience in Comics Books sales.

A-Because earlier editions are harder to find and they are the most wanted ones. There is a decreasing proportion in prices, which means, the more antique, the more expensive.
Q-Why there is significant price variation among close editions?
A-This is due to demand and supply. For example, numbers 50 to 59 of a collection have same price, US$ 1,00 each. But number 56 is the exception and costs US$ 1,75. This number is more expensive because collectors look more for it to buy and to keep. So number 56 is hard to find and to buy even for RIKA. This usually happens because of special subject inside the specific title (for example, a special super hero is born, any important turn points within the comic story, etc.).
Q- RIKA comics' prices are always the same?
A- No. Prices have individual variation. Several variables effect price variation, we exemplify three: stock management, comic story ending, and increase in search of determined title.
Q- Does RIKA have methodology for pricing the products?
A- Yes, we do. This is one of our business secrets. What we can inform is they are based upon sales statistics, demand and supply, stock volume management, among others.
Q- Do the comics number of pages and lay out effect the price?
A- Yes, they do although in a much less significant way.
Q-The more antique, the rarer and more valuable is the comic?
A-Not necessarily. There are comics that got simply old. Aging does influence price, but there are many old comics that no collectors are interested in, so they are not worth.

A- Comics in site are physically available in stock although they can be bought at anytime and get temporarily unavailable.

Q-How much does the delivery take?
A- There is a variation according to each region. Consult page DELIVERY DEADLINES.
Q- I live abroad. Can I buy at RIKA'?
A- Yes, you can. We send remittances to any country of the world. Consult page CLIENTES INTERNACIONAIS for further information.
Q-How will you send my remittance?
A-We will send it through mail service. The most used options are the normal remittance, registered letter and FedEx.
Q-Why do you use the remittances mail service?
A-Our products are, in majority, of low aggregated value. The remittance cost via another service would make the process more expensive, and our product, by extension, would be more expensive too. In many cases, the freight cost would be bigger than the products values.
Q-I'm in a hurry. Can you deliver my remittance via FedEx?
A- Yes, we can. Order your product and send e-mail to sac@rika.com.br asking for us to send your remittance via FedEx. Put your order's number in it. We will calculate the freight cost based upon the FedEx table and then send the total recalculated cost for you to make the deposit.
Q- I live in São Paulo and I wish to buy my titles directly at the E-Comics Store.
A- In this case, it is not necessary to order by e-mail. Just come to RIKA Store and help yourself.
